It might surprise you to know, but Valentine’s is the one holiday we don’t make a big deal out of @HomeCrazzyHome. That may seem strange, after all:
- I’m an erotic romance writer.
- I found my soul mate and Prince Charming late in life and we are living our very own happily-ever-after.
- Then there are Tara’s Rules for Life & Love:
-
-
Life sux.
-
Love is the only thing that makes it worth living.
-
Great sex is the best way to show that love.
-
Nothing done in love can ever be wrong (consenting adults).
-
So, shouldn’t Valentine’s be our favorite holiday?
Nope. You know why?
Because every day should be Valentine’s if you love someone.
So, no there won’t be any bouquet of roses @HomeCrazzyHome. Cut flowers are not very environmentally friendly anyway. If he got me flowers, he’d know to buy me herbs of love instead.
There won’t be any cards either. While you could buy recycled or make your own, it is still commercialization of love and romance that feeds big business. Besides even most recycled cards come wrapped in single-use plastic.
There might be chocolate, but there is always chocolate @HomeCrazzyHome. More than likely there will be chocolate tomorrow, Sunday, and next week. We’ll buy it once it goes on sale.
We won’t get dressed up in clothes that aren’t us and fight for a table at some crowded restaurant where you pay more than usual for food that isn’t all that great.
As for wine, he laughs at my taste in wine and rarely drinks the stuff himself.
But don’t worry, love is well and strong @HomeCrazzyHome.
There will be ‘I love you’s.’ But there are always those here. Close to a dozen and sometimes more every single day. We don’t need an excuse like Valentine’s to express our appreciation for one another.
There will most definitely be ‘cwtchs.’ If you don’t know that word, it is the first Welsh word that Alan taught me. It means hug or cuddle. But with a uniquely Welsh flavor to it. A true cwtch is much more than a mere hug or even a cuddle.
And at some point, there will most definitely be HOT sex. This girl does practice what she preaches.
We show one another our love every day in small ways too, like:
- When he loads the dishwasher, and I don’t complain because it isn’t done MY way.
- When I cook, clean, and iron with love.
- When he spends time with my daughter @PanKwake.
Of course, if he really wanted to impress me, he could write me a poem. Buy me a book, especially from a charity shop. But I don’t need those to know I matter to him.
Because every day is Valentine’s at our @HomeCrazzyHome.
And that’s how it should be. I wish that kind of love for each and every one of you too.
And remember:
